Serpa BLACKHAWK Holster: the new holster of the Swiss Army

The Swiss Army has finally decided to equip its soldiers with a Serpa BLACKHAWK holster. Already chosen years ago for its manufacturing quality and ease of use in the field by overseas armed forces such as the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), the U.S. Army, Special Forces, certain American police and intervention units, but also by armed forces in Europe such as the German Army, the Serpa Blackhawk holster, configured in Level 2 or Level 3, has once again confirmed its place as a leader as a military holster.

Indeed, this choice is not trivial, the Serpa BLACKHAWK holster has been considered by professionals for many years as one of the best holsters on the market. And for good reason: it is one of the few holsters that have multiple retention levels and offer their users a multitude of possible carry configurations for their weapon, allowing them to have only one holster for several types of missions, whether it is for a routine mission or a high-risk operation.

There are 2 types of Serpa Blackhawk holsters: the Serpa Level 2 holster (with one retention level) and the Serpa Level 3 holster (with two retention levels). The Level 2 retention system perfectly secures the weapon and opens with a simple press of the index finger on a lever located on the side of the holster, exactly where the finger instinctively places itself. And when the user places their weapon back in the holster, the retention automatically resets. The Level 3 retention system complements the Level 2 retention system with a hood that locks the top of the weapon, also protecting its sighting devices. To draw their weapon, the user must then push a button with their thumb to release the hood and press with their index finger on the retention lever on the side of the holster. Another advantage is that the Level 3 hood can only be closed by pressing with the thumb, preventing it from closing accidentally.

As you can see, this pistol holster perfectly secures your weapon, which is one of the reasons why the Swiss Army decided to select this type of holster for its soldiers. The other reason is that this holster offers its user many carrying options. Depending on the assigned mission, the operator must conceal or not their weapon, and Blackhawk understands this well. This is why the Serpa Blackhawk holster can be worn either discreetly on the belt or on a thigh platform. It is even adaptable on a tactical vest thanks to the Serpa Quick Disconnect, a 360° rotatable quick connection system that allows the user to transfer their weapon from one platform to another with a simple gesture.
