1, 2 or 3 points: which is the best weapon sling?

1, 2 ou 3 points : quelle est la meilleure bretelle pour arme ? - Welkit

Choosing a weapon sling is a bit more complex than one might think. Everyone will have their own opinion and experience. From what we have observed, we believe that each sling has its advantages and disadvantages and that it should be chosen based on what you want to do.

The single-point sling

This type of sling is highly appreciated for its "tacticool" aspect and its almost immediate benefits. This sling attaches to a single point on the rifle and is placed under the shooter's weak arm (if you shoot with your right hand, pass the sling under your left arm). Unlike the two-point sling, you can simply drop your rifle if you need both hands quickly. The weapon may be a bit wobbly but remains within reach in a stressful situation. The disadvantage: it's quite uncomfortable to walk with. If you don't hold the weapon, it will swing and hit your knees and shins. Another solution is to pass the sling over your shoulders on top of your tactical vest, distributing the weight of the weapon over both shoulders. Bulldog Tactical slings are ideal for this.

The good old two-point sling

The two-point slings have existed since soldiers needed to carry their rifles while keeping their hands free. They are functional and reliable: the proof is that they are still used today in both the military and sports shooting fields. They have a great advantage: they allow you to get into shooting position very quickly. The disadvantage is that if you need to switch shoulders to shoot, it may not be very easy. However, some slings offer the possibility to improve this feature by "lengthening" the sling.

Never two without three

This one is a bit more complicated than the other two. It consists of a strap that is positioned on the stock of the weapon and allows the attachment of a second sling that goes from the stock to a mounting point at the front of the weapon. In terms of comfort, it allows your rifle to be positioned firmly against your chest while leaving your hands free. As soon as you need it, just grab it and bring it to your shoulder. This three-point sling slides almost as well as a two-point and allows you to switch shooting shoulders very easily. But the problem is that with multiple slings, they may get caught on your vest accessories or your shooting optics.
