How to Choose the Right Kestrel Weather Station for Long-Range Shooting
Knowing the environmental conditions around us can make the difference between a successful shot and a miss in long-range shooting. The Kestrel Elite, like the Kestrel Sportsman Weather Meters with integrated beacons, combine precise environmental measurements with 21st-century ballistic tools, providing you with elevation and wind speed adjustments tailored to your weapon system and bullets. Here you will find a quick comparison of the options. Of course, there is a whole range you can add to these. The basic features are as follows: each Kestrel designed in the USA is waterproof, floats, and comes with a 5-year warranty.

Kestrel 2500It provides wind power and altitude. The station pressure is manual, so you will have the necessary readings for your needs in the ballistic application that you can enter manually (see explanatory videos).
DROP 3
Works via Bluetooth (LiNK) with iOS or Android on our free Kestrel Weather app. Reads altitude and air density manually or via Bluetooth directly on the app.
Kestrel 5500
The LiNK (Bluetooth) option includes a wind vane (tripod not included). It provides wind direction and speed (compass), and all the information you need, such as altitude density. You can set up a user screen to have what you want to see on a single screen. The screen is impressive and remains readable in daylight or even at night thanks to its infrared vision. Wind speed is readable thanks to gusts. Many ballistic applications work with this Bluetooth multimeter on iOS and Android.
Kestrel 5700 Sportsman
With Bluetooth & wind vane. It can be used in weather mode and this model has everything needed to connect to a ballistic application.
Or
Open in ballistic mode... Intended for shots under 1000 meters. G1 & G7 reading.
The 'Kestrel LiNK Ballistics' app is available for free download. You can load your weapons on this app and switch them quickly and easily. It can be upgraded later if you choose the Elite model by sending it to us and paying the difference. It will not have the custom drag curves from the Litz library. You can again compare the charts to see exactly the differences.
Kestrel Elite 5700 with Metric Beacon
Keep in mind that to connect your iPhone or Android smartphone you need the LiNK (Bluetooth). This high-end multimeter is used by snipers at over 4000 meters.
You will find the 'Kestrel LiNK Ballistics' app available for free download. 95% of those we sell come with a LiNK. To get the custom curves you need, you need the app when you load your weapon for the meters, really simple to do. The only one without the LiNK is when we sell them bundled, then you get a cable for the PC.
Note... The LiNK (Bluetooth) works with iPhone, Android, and with the Bushnell Conx rangefinder. Be careful, Kestrel stations are never discounted anywhere. If you find one elsewhere and much cheaper, ask yourself if it has been stolen or if it is a counterfeit.
