The efficiency of airborne and maritime operations relies on precise coordination and signaling. The 18 Light Drop Zone Kit from Adventure Lights stands out as a cutting-edge solution for marking critical areas such as landing zones and expeditionary airfields. Designed to ensure soldier safety, this system integrates VIPIR™ SMART beacons offering optimal visibility with five output colors, including infrared (IR), and the possibility of manual or remote activation.

This kit is distinguished by its extended range via encrypted signal repeaters and its compatibility with six RF frequency groups, ensuring effective and reliable signaling. The 18 VIPIR™ SMART beacons can be activated manually or remotely and flash in unison when set to the same RF groups. This allows for maximum flexibility even in conditions where the line of sight may not be available.

The 18 Light Drop Zone Kit also includes adjustable tripod mounts for the repeaters and beacons, Light Shaping Technology™ beacon shrouds, and Powergrip™ battery caps to increase the beacons' operating time. The kit is completed by a durable NANUK™ case and two accessory pouches, ensuring a comprehensive and robust solution for operational needs.

In terms of performance, the controller can reach beacons kilometers away using the three included encrypted signal repeaters, with additional units available if needed. The lighting modes include "Follow Me," continuous, and flash at 48 BPM, with colors available in green, infrared (IR), red, white, and yellow. The kit operates in a temperature range of -20 to +65°C, ensuring reliability even in extreme conditions.

The transmission and reception distance varies according to the components: up to 500 m for the controller (VIPIR or repeater), 400 m for the repeater to VIPIR, and over 1.6 km air-to-ground to the first repeater. The recommended elevation for the controller/repeater is 1 m in line of sight, and 40 cm for the VIPIR. Additionally, the kit is waterproof with IP68 protection ratings for the controller/repeater and up to 100 m for the VIPIR.

In terms of power, the controller uses four 1.5V alkaline/lithium batteries (AA type), the repeater uses two 1.5V alkaline/lithium batteries (AA type), and the VIPIR uses one 3V lithium battery (123A type). The entire system is made of high-tech polymer, ensuring increased durability and resistance.
