Description

The Berghaus military backpack offers an exceptional capacity of 110 liters, allowing you to carry all the necessary equipment for extended missions. Designed with a 1000D frame, this bag is both robust and durable, capable of withstanding the toughest conditions.

Equipped with the Cyclops II back system, this bag ensures optimal comfort even during long marches. The two removable MMPS zippered side pockets can be transformed into a separate backpack, offering remarkable flexibility. The shoulder straps, chest strap, and arm straps included in the top compartment allow for quick and easy configuration.

Ski attachment points are integrated into the body of the backpack, making this equipment versatile for various missions. The hip belt tightens by pulling two straps forward, ensuring balanced weight distribution. The 38 mm wide straps on the load lifters and shoulder harness add to the stability and carrying comfort.

A front access (FA) facilitates organization and quick access to the contents, while a mesh pocket hidden in the front access panel allows you to store a helmet or jacket outside. The rain cover compartment located at the bottom of the bag (rain cover not included) offers additional protection against the elements.

The presence of four loops on the inner back panel allows for the attachment of an MMPS radio, ensuring reliable communication in all circumstances. The bag also has a slot for a hydration bladder, guaranteeing easy and quick hydration.

Review of the Berghaus MMPS Crusader III FA 90+20L Backpack

I recently purchased the Berghaus MMPS Crusader III FA 90+20L and after a first outing, I can confidently say it meets all my expectations. While this review is based on short-term use, I genuinely believe this backpack offers the best value for money in the 110L capacity range. I managed to get it for €285.06 using the BA30 discount code (€30 off)—I highly recommend using the Coupert Chrome extension to find promo codes.

Quality & Performance
Berghaus is a legendary brand in the outdoor and military gear world, and their reputation is well-deserved. The military-grade durability of this backpack is reassuring, especially for such a large capacity. Sure, a 30L Decathlon backpack might do the job, but trusting a 110L Decathlon pack for serious use is another story. Knowing that this Berghaus bag is ready for any challenge is a huge confidence boost.

The green color is perfect for bushcraft and outdoor activities—it blends into nature without looking like military camouflage. As for capacity, I was able to fit an alto saxophone (with its case) inside! I’ve also attached some comparison photos with a standard Eastpak backpack for scale.

Fit & Comfort
For my slim and small frame (1m70, 55kg), I chose size 2, which fits me well when I tighten the top strap fully (see photos). The only downside I found was a strap section (marked in red in the photos) pressing against my rib, which was slightly uncomfortable. However, I solved this by wrapping a thin zip tie around it as tightly as possible and leaving it for 3 days to break in the foam—problem solved!
